Food

Hunger and saturation values are the defaults from the Food Settings. Hunger is counted in hunger points (2 points is one drumstick). Most food content can be turned off with foodContentEnabled or the toggle of the plant it belongs to.

Berry bushes and rudo

  • Blueberry and strawberry bushes grow through stages 0, 1 and 2. A bush at stage 2 is ripe: right-click it to pick the berries. Picking gives 2 berries by default and sets the bush back to stage 1, so it can be picked again.
  • Each random tick a bush has a 50% chance to advance a stage. Bone meal advances it with a 40% chance per use and always uses up the bone meal.
  • You can plant a blueberry by right-clicking grass with the berry. Strawberries and rudo beans work like seeds and plant on farmland.
  • Rudo stalks grow through stages 0 to 4. Stage 0 advances on every random tick and later stages have a 50% chance. A fully grown stalk (stage 4) gives 3 beans when you right-click it and goes back to stage 3. Breaking a fully grown stalk also gives 3 beans, and breaking a brand-new one (stage 0) gives 1 bean back.
  • The berry count, growth chances and planting rules are set in the Block Settings and Item Settings.

Baobab fruit

Baobab Fruit
Baobab Fruit

Baobab fruit hangs below Baobab leaves and grows through five stages (0 to 4). A fruit grows on a timer (every 1800 ticks by default, with a 30% chance per timer) and can be sped up with bone meal (40% per use).

  • Right-click a fruit at stage 2 or higher to harvest it. A ripe fruit (stage 4) gives 1 fruit and drops back one stage, so it can be harvested again.
  • Breaking a ripe fruit drops 3 fruit. Half-grown fruit drops less.
  • If the leaf above the fruit is removed, the fruit falls and drops its fruit.
  • You can plant a fruit yourself by right-clicking the underside of a Baobab leaf with a baobab fruit.
  • Eating a fruit clears all your active potion effects, and it can be eaten even when you are not hungry. Both are configurable.
  • One baobab fruit crafts into one Baobab Powder, used to brew the Potion of Clarity.

Berry juice

Berry Juice is a drink (16 per stack). Drinking it restores 2 hunger and, on top of that, heals you by 4 health points (2 hearts) and gives Regeneration for 5 seconds. You get the empty glass bottle back. The heal and the regeneration time are configurable.

Maple syrup

Maple Sap is collected from a maple tap and is smelted into Maple Syrup. A bottle of syrup is not eaten in one go: it has 3 sips (configurable). Each sip restores 3 hunger and gives Speed I for 40 seconds, and there is a one-second pause between sips. After the last sip you keep an empty glass bottle. Syrup can be eaten even when you are not hungry.

Golden beetroot

Golden Beetroot
Golden Beetroot
  • Eaten by you: restores 6 hunger and gives Regeneration I for 2 minutes (configurable).
  • Fed to a tamed animal (a tamed wolf, cat, parrot, horse and so on): the animal gains permanent slow regeneration. It heals half a heart every 100 ticks while it is hurt. The effect is saved with the animal. Right-click the animal with the beetroot; you do not eat it. Each animal can only be given it once.
